A home is a
human right

Who we are

Since 1971, we have grown from a small group of volunteers providing a soup run in Belfast to become Northern Ireland’s leading homelessness charity. Today, we operate in every corner of the country, providing a lifeline to individuals and families who are experiencing or are at risk of homelessness.

Our reason

Homelessness in Northern Ireland has reached a record high. Recent data shows that 1 in every 31 people in our society is officially classified as homeless. The crisis is often hidden. Beyond those sleeping on our streets, thousands more are “sofa surfing,” living in overcrowded conditions, or trapped in unsuitable temporary accommodation. We are here to ensure that no one has to face these challenges alone.

Our vision, mission and values

Our vision: A society where everyone has a place to call home.
Our mission: To end homelessness for those in need by providing effective prevention, emergency support, and long-term housing solutions.

Three core values underpin everything we do:

Trustworthy

We are honest, accountable, and dedicated to the safety and well-being of our clients.

Non-judgemental

We accept people for who they are, providing support without bias or blame.

Determined

We are relentless in our pursuit of solutions that end the cycle of homelessness for good.

Hope in action

Every day, people across Northern Ireland turn to Simon Community for safety, support and the chance to rebuild their lives. Our impact is measured not only in the services we deliver, but in the moments of stability, confidence and hope created along the way.
