Galgorm Collection announced Simon Community NI as their charity in January 2012 and have been dedicated supporters helping us each day in our flight to end homelessness.
Well over 100 staff members have used their relationship with customers to their facilities to raise awareness of homelessness in Northern Ireland while encouraging financial support for Simon Community NI’s services, for example presenting cards in each of the guest rooms, which highlight the partnership with the charity as well as encouraging guests to take part in the ‘Sleep Smart’ campaign – guests are offered a chance to make a small donation to Simon Community NI when paying their bills at the end of their stay. The Galgorm Collection also promote the Simon Community NI to diners at their popular Belfast eatery Fratelli.
Galgorm Collection have initiated innovative fundraising ideas in recent years including hosting this year’s fantastic Great Gatsby themed Gala ball, which raised an amazing £5,000 towards the charity’s bespoke ‘Hometeam’ one to one client service.
From the beginning of the partnership Galgorm Collection have raised more than £70,000 and the staff has volunteered hundreds of hours of their time. A special campaign within the local Ballymena area specifically encouraged staff to donate Christmas presents directly to their local Simon Community project.
