Temporary Accommodation

Youth Services

Emergency and Temporary Accommodation (Ages 16-25)

For many, homelessness begins with leaving care or experiencing a family or relationship breakdown. With Simon Community you will find a caring environment where you can build confidence and skills for adulthood. Our youth accommodation projects are for young people aged 16 – 25 who need a safe place to stay while working towards living independently.

How to access this service?

The Housing Executive is responsible for providing accommodation for anyone who is legally homeless, and we take referrals for our accommodation services through the Housing Executive. If the Housing Executive has no duty to provide you with temporary housing (has not awarded you with FDA), they may ask you to contact us directly. This is called a self-referral. We receive many requests, and space is limited, so we may not always be able to offer a bed.

Some of our Youth Temporary Accommodation services are jointly commissioned with the health trusts and referrals are only accepted from Health Trust professionals involved in your care.

Even if we cannot provide accommodation, we will talk through your options and offer advice and guidance where we can.

When I moved into Simon Community, the staff were amazing – they treat you with respect. I’ve got my own flat and do my own cooking and washing. It’s a brilliant place with a big support network. I’ve made lots of friends and have so much more confidence now.
