A week of social, educational and public engagement, Homelessness Awareness Week NI marks the continued efforts of organisations, staff, and service users working in the sector. Running from 29th November – 6th December 2019, this year will be celebrated by events and activities organised across Northern Ireland.
At NI’s leading homelessness charity, the focus of Simon Community’s community services will be to thank those who continually help with project successes at a local level. Planned events throughout the week include 24 cyclethons, donation drop off days, craft fairs and community walks.
The charity is urging people to get involved in whatever way possible and this year is promoting Sweaters for Simon as a simple action for anyone wanting to raise awareness. Simply host a Christmas sweater day at your home or workplace, make a donation and to spread the word, use hashtags #Sweaters4Simon and #HAW2019 across Social Media.
