Recently Rebecca Robinson of Terex Corporation (Lurgan) Stayed Awake for Simon.
In her efforts to stay awake for 24 hours she filled the day with sunrise tea, walks with her dog, family visits, board games & video games, welding, summer BBQ donation collections, movies and more.
She raised £100 to add to the company’s fundraising total and is encouraging her colleagues to participate as well as throwing a cooperate BBQ to increase homelessness awareness.
Rebecca stated:
The “Stay Awake for Simon” was a success! From 5.20am Friday morning to 5.20am on Saturday, I can see why the Simon Community like to raise awareness of the importance of a good night’s sleep and how homelessness has a huge impact on this. The effects of continually not having a good night’s sleep are detrimental to both a person’s physical and mental wellbeing, and raising money for this amazing cause will help so many adults and children all around the country be set up in safe environments where they can receive a good night’s rest.
