Fujitsu Northern Ireland launched a two year charity partnership with Simon Community NI in 2014 Fujitsu had a clear objective that wanted to achieve – raise funds, providing gifts in kind; and offering pro bono technical support and advice. The staff raised over £20,000 and many still donate on a regular basis via payroll giving. Some of the activity over the two years included; collection appeals for essential items for people experiencing homelessness, hosting information sessions at the company’s head office about the Simon Community NI, they also sponsored a charity cycle, sleep out to name but a few activities. The charity committee of Fujitsu visited several of the Simon Community Projects and was so enthused and motivated by the work of the staff and clients, they even created a video blog to share with colleagues across the whole organization.
In a completely new initiative Fujitsu used its technical knowledge to support Simon Community NI’s technical support within the projects, providing PC’s on site to support clients by providing basic computer training to help with personal development and job hunting.
