Following a very successful bake sale last year to raise funds for MacMillan Cancer, clients and staff at our Project at 414 Falls Road have rolled up their sleeve and rolled out the pastry once again, this time in aid of St James Farm.
The 'bake sale' team spent a weekend baking and served up their sweet treats to local residents just before Christmas.
They displayed goodies on tables outside the Project and received a lot of attention from the local community who all got involved, buying buns form family, friends and work colleagues.
The baked goods included decorated buns, cookies, cakes and festive mince pies and the team even offered coffee alongside to stave off the cold winter air.
The charitable event raised a fantastic £200 for St James Farm - an urban farm in the heart of the west of the city run by St James Youth Group, which seeks to bring a slice of the country to children and adults and allow them to tend to and care for animals including goats, chickens and ducks.
Well done to all involved from everyone at Simon Community NI!
