Now more than ever, we need a functioning government to tackle the very real issues of homelessness, poverty and their related health consequences. We are seeing levels of homelessness increase as the cost of living pushes everyday people to make disturbing choices between heating their homes or feeding their families.
Ahead of this election, Simon Community campaigned for political representatives to commit to delivering legislation to end homelessness, secure properly-resourced budgets and increase housing supply. These asks have already been years in the waiting and we urge all parties to restore government immediately to help prevent a looming homelessness disaster.
