Today's announcement that unemployment in Northern Ireland has risen by almost 90% in April is a worrying statistic.
Reliance on benefits is a major catalyst of homelessness as individuals fall into rent arrears or are forced to choose between eating or heating.
My concern would be that in the aftermath of COVID-19, Northern Ireland may find itself facing an even bigger homelessness and poverty crisis than it had been previously.
